Attachment to the SHL Diploma

With the introduction of the new legal framework, holders of qualifications awarded under the previous regulations will also be entitled to use the additional title «Professional Bachelor» alongside their protected qualification title from 1 October 2026. The diploma originally issued will remain unchanged and may not be amended retrospectively. An HF diploma is an official qualification document and is based on the legal provisions in force at the time it was awarded.

However, graduates may apply to the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) for the retrospective issuance of a Diploma Supplement. In addition, SHL offers its own diploma attachments in both German and English. Further information on both options can be found below.

Attachment to the SHL Diploma

Anyone who received their SHL diploma before 1 October 2026 may order an attachment to the SHL diploma in both German and English. SHL issues both versions upon request for a fee of CHF 45.00 (covering both attachments). Orders are collected until the end of each month, then processed within 10 working days and sent by post. Please note that a copy or scanned version of the SHL diploma must be submitted together with the order.

Apply for a SERI Diploma Supplement

From 1 October 2026, the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) will provide a standard document in Switzerland’s official languages. This document explains the additional qualification titles and may be attached to an HF diploma certificate awarded under the previous regulations.

Graduates who obtained their qualification before 1 October 2026 may apply to SERI for the retrospective issuance of a Diploma Supplement. A fee of CHF 80.00 applies. A copy or scanned version of the HF diploma must be submitted together with the application.
